
Have you ever noticed the numbers on the bottom of a milk package? Do you know what’s their meaning?
Every milk package has numbers from 1 to 5, or in some countries from 1 to 6. They shows how many times the milk has been reprocessed or recycled.
The reprocessing or recycling of the milk is allowed in some countries and there is a legal regulation about that. The milk can be reprocessed up to 5 times at 190 °C and returned again to the stores. All milk manufactures are required to show how many times they repeated the process.
