Eating, watching TV, reading, cuddling with a family member or the family pet — than just sleeping, we really do a lot more things in bed. And most of us can tack on quite a couple more hours when we consider all the time our beds are used by us for other things like the ones mentioned above.
We’re not normally quite fond of washing and changing our bedding on a regular basis although most people enjoy the sensation of sleeping between newly washed sheets. However, the truth is, anyone who sleeps in precisely the same sheets for more than two weeks is really putting their health at risk — at least according to Dr. Lisa Ackerley who specializes in hygiene.
Below are some of medical threats she needs everyone to know about and a couple of methods for reducing them…
Our bodies carry that’s really quite ordinary and all sorts of viruses and bacteria. Most frequently these microorganisms don’t cause us any injury. But while we sleep we transfer many of them through our skin cells, saliva and other bodily fluids to our bed sheets and night after night they collect to the point they can develop into a serious problem. For all types of health hazards that are awful, a bed that is n’t kept clean can become an incubator in the end. Here are only some of them.
Staphylococcus aureus
This bacteria could cause an extensive range of health problems including urinary tract infections, lung diseases, and skin diseases and loves to reside in filthy sheets.
Candida albicans
This fungus can bring about serious health concerns including diseases of skin, genitals, throat, and even blood and thrives in the dark spaces between unwashed bed sheets.
