This article is dedicated to teaching you a thing or two about “mudras” – hand positions which play an extremely important role in yoga practices and are commonly known as “producers of joy”.

The whole technique revolves around stimulating the nerve endings in our fingers to get the energy to circulate in our body and improve our daily lives. Give every position a try and you will surely feel the difference.

  1. Mudra for Knowledge

While sitting in a lotus position, place your hands on the knee and press your index finger and thumb together, and then extend the remaining fingers. This position will help:

  • Relax your mind and help you concentrate
  • Keep you sharp and smart
  • Help you sleep better
  • Reduce stress
  1. The Mudra of Air

Fold your index finger inside your palm, and then press it with your thumb while extending the rest of your fingers. This position will help:

  • Eliminate gas
  • Relieve constipation, arthritis symptoms
  • Relieve flatulence
  1. Mudra of Earth

Press the tip of your index finger and thumb together and extend the remaining fingers. This position will help:

  • Regulate blood circulation
  • Regulate weight
  • Enhance digestion
