
An important part of cooking is having the right tools. Once you have them, proper upkeep and maintenance is important. I know that I am guilty of neglecting my appliances, especially my knives. They need to be sharp to be efficient, but how to sharpen them? I don’t want to buy any special tools. Don’t worry. You don’t have to. This video will show you what to do.
This is a great trick to know! You can sharpen knives on a ceramic mug! Or plate. Most complete sets come with sort of sharpening thing; called a honing rod I think. But this method seems easier and is great to know if you don’t have a sharpener.
P.s. You should cut a tomato with a serrated knife, not the one used in the video. Different blade styles have different uses. That’s why knives come in sets. Kitchen Knives has a list of how each should be used. Really interesting!
