HERE’S HOW TO POTTY TRAIN A TODDLER IN JUST 3 DAYS. I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS ACTUALLY WORKS

From the moment of their birth, we keep our kids in diapers to help make dealing with their “messes” easier. This works for a while, but every parent has to eventually deal with the source of frustration that is potty training. As any parent can attest to, there will be accidents. The frequency can vary from child to child, but don’t feel like you are alone if your little of bundle of joy is having problems adjusting. It is a completely new way of life.

The results are worth the challenge in the end, but why does potty training have to be so difficult in the first place? After so many centuries of teaching our kids how to do it, you would think that we would have discovered an easier method by now. According to Lora Jensen, the solution to the potty-training calamity is here. The best part of it is that it only takes three days to do it! It may seem too good to be true, but according to her new book, “3 Day Potty Training,” it doesn’t have to be as difficult as what most parents experience. Be prepared: the three days of this program are very intensive.

“The parent(s) needs to know that it will take work and you have to dedicate a full three days to the child. This means giving up ‘me’ time. You won’t be cooking, cleaning or visiting with friends—or ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians.’ You will seriously be spending all waking hours with your child for three days […] Have your shopping done and meals prepared ahead of time. Do the laundry and clean the house prior to starting. Be ready to play games, color, watch cartoons and just enjoy some bonding time with your child.” says Lora Jensen, author of “3 Day Potty Training.”

It may seem like a very overwhelming experience, but who can argue when the alternative is weeks or months of frustration? Here is how you can start your child on the path of independence from diapers:

When your child wakes up on the first day of the program, change his/her soggy diaper and tell them to throw it out themselves. Have them say “bye-bye” as the lid on the garbage can closes.

Make your child wear nothing but an oversized shirt that goes down to their knees. The important part is to explain that there is no diaper to catch their pee or poo, so they have to use the potty if they ever want to go. There is no safety net.
