Wonder why you save ALL those toilet paper rolls? Haha Well I have one remedy to get rid of a few without throwing anything out! I found some cute & creative ways to reuse my recycled items to make upcycled decor balls!
After I gathered towel, toilet, and ribbon paper rolls, I then painted in & outsides of cardboard rolls.
After paint dries, cut into .5″ or smaller pieces. (I didn’t measure but if you’re a stickler then have at it!)
The small cardboard ribbon rolls are perfect sized, no cutting needed.
I then assembled 5-6 painted pieces into a round criss-cross shape. I only needed 3 ribbon rolls, which are much sturdier cardboard.
I used a tiny squirt of glue on top/bottom of each piece and pinched excess out around end to help them dry as a cohesive unit. Let dry.
That’s it!
If you want twine or moss balls, I suggest using the hard cardboard roles since they don’t bend as easily.
One tip when using twine, tie a knot from the inside of roll at start leaving a piece about 1-2″ long out. you’ll need that to finish tieing the ends together at end,(see photo), you can then push completed knot inside so it’s invisible.
